    8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
    (½ hr for lunch)

  • Holidays

    Our office is closed the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. The following are deferred holidays: MLK Day, President's Day, Juneteenth Day, Native American Day which means you can take the actual holiday or a different day. 

  • Sick Leave

    Employees accrue 1 day a month of sick leave to a maximum of 80 days.  Also, vacation accrues at the rate of 1 day per month with accrual rates increasing with additional years of service to a maximum of 21 days of vacation per year after 15 years of service.

  • Clothing Allowance

    Field Staff - $200 per year
    Office Staff - $125 per year

  • Screening Tests

    Potential employees will be required to pass an initial pre-employment drug screening test. Testing is typically done in Brookings, but arrangements can be made for a more convenient location if needed. Kingbrook covers the cost of the drug test. Potential employees must also sign a Motor Vehicle Records release form.

Wellmark and Globe Life GAP premium info as of 1-1-2025

  • Wellmark ($3000 single deductible / $6000 family deductible)
  • Globe Life ($4000 outpatient coverage / $6000 inpatient coverage)
  • Eligibility date: first of the month following date of employment.
  • Employee cost is 10% of monthly premium.
  • Plan costs are based on age and family composition.
  • Employee monthly cost:
    • Family – ranges from $220 to $400
    • EE/spouse – ranges from $150 to $300
    • Single – ranges from $70 to $150

  • Eligibility date: first of the month following date of employment.
  • Employee cost is 10% of monthly premium.
  • Employee monthly cost:
    • Family - $13.98
    • EE/child(ren) - $9.78
    • EE /spouse - $6.88
    • Single - $3.44

  • Eligibility date: first of the month following 30 continuous days of employment.
  • Kingbrook covers 100% of the LTD premium
  • Employee cost - none

Principal Life Insurance Co. premium info of 1-1-2025

  • Eligibility date: first of the month following date of employment.
  • Kingbrook covers 100% of the premium for $25,000 of coverage
  • Employee cost - none
  • Employee can purchase voluntary life coverage at their own expense

National Telephone Cooperative Association (NTCA) info as of 1-1-2025

  • Eligibility date: first of the month following six months of employment.
  • Savings Plan – 8% employer contribution and an optional 401K employee contribution
