2019 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to our 2019 Scholarship recipients! Check back in December for information on our 2020 Scholarship program.
Nicholas Kersting is the son of Tom and Sherrie Kersting of Volga currently attending Arlington High School. His involvement in extra-curricular activities includes football, basketball, golf and track and field. He is also involved in FFA, FCA, 4-H, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Nicholas’s community involvement includes STARS Horse Therapy, volunteering at youth football camps, and 4-H mentoring. Nicholas plans to attend South Dakota State University where he will major in Agriculture Economics with a minor in Animal Science. He would like to secure a job as a commodity trader and then pursue a law degree.
Anna Schwader is the daughter of Max and Julie Schwader from Winfred currently attending Howard High School. Her involvement in extra-curricular activites includes choir, one-act play, oral interp, and cheerleading. She is also involved in student council, is a member of the National Honor Society, and attended Girls State. She is actively involved in FFA at the District, State and National levels and has received several awards. A few of the ways Anna volunteers her time are by helping with Vacation Bible School, teaching Sunday School, and volunteering as a church camp counselor. Anna plans to attend Dakota Wesleyan University and obtain a degree in Non-profit Administration with a minor in Communications or Business Administration. She would like to secure a career with a healthcare or collegiate foundation.
Caileb Reilly is the son of Ann Hyland and Ryan Hyland from Ramona currently attending Madison High School. He has been actively involved in football, basketball and track and field. He is also active in FFA, FBLA, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Awards that Caileb has received include USD Top Scholar and All-Conference Football Player. He has volunteered in many ways including coaching t-ball and volunteering at local nursing homes. Caileb plans to attend the University of South Dakota and major in Business Administration. He then plans to attend law school while obtaining a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He would like to use his degrees to help those less fortunate.
Devon Heuer is the son of James and Ann Heuer from Arlington currently attending Arlington High School. He is actively involved in football, basketball, and band. He is also involved in A-Club, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attended Boys State. Outstanding ACT Prep Student and DVC Conference Player of the Year are just two of the numerous awards Devon has received. He actively volunteers in the community by coaching football camps, refereeing 5th & 6th grade football, and tutoring for 7th Grade Geometry. Devon plans to attend the University of South Dakota and pursue a degree in either biology or exercise science. He would like to have a career in chiropractic care or physical therapy.
